Governance Analyst

MicroSys is seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Governance Analyst to join our team in the Reston VA area to provide unparalleled support to our customer and to begin an exciting and rewarding career within MicroSys. The Governance Analyst will support multiple federal agencies through the Continuous Diagnostics & Mitigation (CDM) Program. The CDM Program is a high-profile, high- visibility, cybersecurity modernization and risk management program where you can contribute innovative solutions and consult with many different federal agencies to enhance their Information Assurance (IA) programs and continuous monitoring capabilities.
The Governance Analyst will report to the Governance Lead and be responsible for supporting, implementing and/or drafting governance recommendations to federal agencies and internal project teams in various areas, including information assurance, business continuity, change management, risk mitigation as well as industry best practices related to cybersecurity and the implementation of cybersecurity solutions.

Under the guidance of the Governance Lead, the Governance Analyst shall perform the following in the areas of Program Governance, Project Management and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC):
- Assist in internal and agency-required security assessments, to include the potential creation of any necessary post-assessment deliverables
- Assist and perform cyber security capability maturity assessments
- Perform gap analyses and develop recommendations for management or Agency consideration— provide recommendations and suggestions to internal project teams and federal agencies of industry best practices related to information assurance programs, cybersecurity policies, procedures, and processes, business continuity, change management, risk identification, and risk mitigation
- Assist in gathering deliverables and collateral for all necessary project gates
- Assist in the creation of any necessary artifact/collateral for each project milestone
- Write, maintain and review policies to ensure compliance with Federal agency requirements within the scope of the CDM solution
- Review policy, memos, and other Agency directives to identify potential impacts to cyber implementations, and make recommendations for improvement or policy changes
- Draft correspondence and memorandums on various subjects, e.g., Cyber Security guidance, strategic information technology plan updates, continuous monitoring strategy
- Build and maintain direct relationships across MicroSys’s CDM project teams and with Agency POCs
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required (B.S. in information security, information technology, or related focus) with 5-7 years of professional experience in IT or cyber-related fields
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing, developing, and implementing enterprise IT and cyber security policies and governance activities on IT implementations across Federal customers
- Knowledge and experience with cybersecurity industry and government programs, policies, and strategies
- Experience working with other teams to create new processes and procedures to meet security and compliance requirements
- Strong understanding of frameworks, such as NIST 800-53, Cybersecurity Framework, 800-37, FedRAMP, NIST 800-171, ISO 27000
- Experience preferred performing organizational change management to improve how an organization functions and developing new and/or re-engineering roles and responsibilities
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity compliance measures and resolutions
- General familiarity with compliance assessment requirements
- Exceptional customer focus and bias for action
- Experience balancing the demands of multiple clients simultaneously
- Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-moving environment
